Woodleigh is one of the only schools in the United Kingdom to offer time-tabled sport on every school day. Every child will have the opportunity to represent the school in a sports team during their time at Woodleigh.

A full programme of competitive sports fixtures and tournaments complements the daily sports coaching sessions which are taught by qualified specialists. Currently there are recreational and competitive opportunities in Rugby, Football, Cricket, Netball, Hockey, Rounders, Badminton, Cross Country, Swimming, Triathlon, Athletics, Tennis, Horse riding, Judo, Skipping, Table Tennis, Snooker and Basketball. Woodleigh is extremely well resourced for sport, benefitting from an all weather playing surface for Hockey and Netball, a tennis court,  a swimming pool,  a cross country course, a 400 metre athletics track, four football Pitches, two Rugby pitches, cricket nets, featuring a Bola bowling machine. Woodleigh also boasts a Pavillion and a real grass hockey pitch.

During the Summer term, two activity weeks take place offering expert instruction in Outdoor Pursuits. Sailing, Climbing, Abseiling, Caving, Gorge-scrambling, Water-skiing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Walking, Orienteering, Clay shooting, Rafting, Fishing and Team Building are just some of the activities on offer.

In the summer holidays, Woodleigh offers two activity weeks offering courses in Archery, Cookery, Craft design, Cycling, Pottery Basketball and Swimming. There are also full-day excursions to nearby places of interest, including Leeds Royal Armouries, Dalby Forest and Whitby.
