Activities
Outdoor adventures
Adventure is part of your child’s life at Woodleigh. The school offers weekend and week long residential packages including fun days out dry-skiing, paint-balling, canoeing, quasar, and ropes courses.
There are also trips to cities, museums, imax cinemas, football stadium tours, seaside visits and much more. All courses are run by experienced and fully qualified staff.
Each summer years 5-8 go camping for a week. Activities include team building, rafting, caving, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, water-skiing, fishing and survival skills.
During the holidays, activity weeks include archery, cycling, tennis, swimming, horse riding, cricket, football, art, music, crafts and off site excursions. There is also an annual ski trip.
Outdoor Pursuits
Through Friday to Sunday activity weekends arranged over Leave-out weekends many outdoor Pursuits are available, including: Sailing, Climbing, Abseiling, Caving, Gorge-scrambling, Water-skiing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Walking, Orienteering, Clay shooting, Rafting & Fishing.
Weekday Term Time Activities
There are many activities available to the children, including: Pottery, Handcrafts Video-filming, Photography, Candle-making, Basket weaving, Furniture restoration, Cooking, Theatre – Acting, Lighting, Set-design, Costume, Instrumental Band, Computing, Web Design, Public-Speaking, Debating, Wargaming, Archery, Shooting, Swimming, Chess, Squash, Adventure playground, 5-a-side Football, Dancing, Video Club, Homework & Confirmation Classes. Specific activities are also tailored to the specific interests of a group of pupils.
Sports coaching out of school hours
Qualified staff coach numerous sports on weekdays after tea and before homework including Soccer, Netball, Rugby, Cricket, Rounders & Tennis. Badminton, Running, Swimming, Horse-riding & Judo are also options.
Activities in free-time
There are many activities available to the children, including: Tree Houses, Tree-climbing, Computing, Music, Gardening, Roller-skating, Skate-boarding, Table Tennis, Snooker, Chess, Dancing, Cycling and a Huge Outdoor Trampoline.
Sports facilities are also open to the children to use in their free time if safety permits, including a Bola Cricket Bowling machine, Tennis court, Badminton court, Football pitches, Rugby pitches and sports hall.
