Maths

logrolling 300x191 MathsFrom the Early Years onwards, Maths is taught through concrete experience ensuring that abstract concepts are rooted in a sound foundation. The best of modern methodology is employed whilst a traditional standard of expectation is maintained.

Maths is applied in real situations to consolidate learning; especially in Design and Technology and Science. For the majority, practical everyday Maths is the main emphasis, though a more algebraic approach is taken for the very able.

Maths is taught in classes up until Year Seven after which pupils are placed in sets in Year Eight, in preparation for Common Entrance and Senior School entrance exams.
