Admissions
Children may enter Woodleigh School any time after their third birthday. Entry into Woodleigh School is permitted at anytime throughout the school year.
Visiting the School
Prospective parents are encouraged to visit the school, see the school in action and to meet the Headmaster, staff and pupils. There will be an opportunity to tour the School with older pupils as guides and parents will have the chance to talk to the Headmaster and staff about all aspects of school life at Woodleigh. In addition, all visitors are invited to join the school for lunch on the day of their visit.
Admission to Pre-Prep School – Ages 3+ to 6+
Children wishing to enter the Nursery will be invited with their parents to meet the Nursery teachers and discuss their requirements, while the child has the opportunity to integrate with existing pupils. This allows for a smooth transition into school life when they become a pupil at Woodleigh. Attendance may be part-time or full-time until a child reaches the age at which compulsory, full-time schooling starts (this is the term following a child’s fifth birthday).
Children wishing to join the Pre-Prep School after the age of three will receive invitations to spend the day at Woodleigh, with the relevant class. The class teacher will observe and informally assess them to ensure that they will happily settle in the class. Following a successful visit the pupil will be offered a place at the school.
Admissions to Prep School – Age 7+ to 13+
Following a visit, a prospective pupil will be invited to spend a full day at the school alongside other children in their year group. This allows the class and subject teachers to informally assess them to ensure that they would integrate happily into the Woodleigh School environment.
All prospective pupils will be asked to sit some assessment papers prior to their place being confirmed at the school.
These, along with a copy of the last two terms reports from their current school, aim to ensure that Woodleigh School can provide the best all-round educational environment for the pupil. This will also ensure that optimum arrangements for any further educational needs are in place when the pupil joins the school.
Following a successful visit and formal assessments the pupil will be offered a place at the school.
In order to confirm a place at Woodleigh for your child, you will need to fill in the Registration Form below. When this is received by the School, you will receive a letter confirming the Registration. Further information about uniform, term dates and current events will accompany this letter.
